WEEK OF MAY 13, 2019



2.  Please be sure all library books are returned by the end of this week.

3.  On Tuesday May 21 we will be cleaning in our classroom and bringing items home.  Please send a rag and an extra bag for this purpose. 

4.  This Friday the 17th K and 1 will have a "wheels day".  You may bring your child's bike, scooter, roller blades or skates, with safety gear.  The "wheels" can be dropped off as you drop off in the AM along the playground fence line.  Have any safety gear in a bag marked with your child's name. This can be brought inside.

Wheels Day!

Kindergarten and first grade will have a "wheels day" on Friday May 17th. Bring your bike, scooter, roller skates or roller blades.  (No skateboards please)

The Rose trip tomorrow (Tuesday)

I just found out that I have two more seats available to chaperones tomorrow (Tuesday).  The first two people who reply will be able to claim them!
(You will however need to pay $5.00 for each!)
Mrs. Lorang and Mrs. Taylor are already coming.  Bus leaves campus at 9:15 AM and returns around 11:30 AM.

Notes and news for week of April 29, 2019

1.  FIRST GRADE NEEDS SEVERAL MORE BOXES OF TISSUES!  If you get to the store in the next few days, could you please grab us a box of tissues?  Thanks!    AHHH choo!

2.  REMEMBER field trip to The Rose Theater on Tuesday May 7th.  Chaperones are Mrs. Lorang and Mrs. Taylor.

3.  Thanks for coming along with us to Henotes Island!  Your kids were incredible! What a joy!

4.  Thanks to all the parents who helped with Field Day events and with our class.  Again...what a joy!

5.  Thanks to everyone who blessed me at my retirement celebration!  Knowing this is such a busy time of year, I understand many could not attend.  You were all in my heart.

Week of April 15, 2019

1.  We will have an Easter celebration when we get back on Tuesday the 23rd.  Very low key and simple.

2.  FIELD DAY - Friday April 26 - See CA newsletter for details.  Also, I have my kids bring their backpack to hold "stuff" and a water bottle.
Parents and siblings are welcome to come and walk along with us to our events.

3.  I could still use some more egg cartons IF you have any.

FIELD TRIP TO THE ROSE THEATER

We will be attending Dragons Love Tacos at the Rose theater on Tuesday May 7th at 10:00 AM. We will be using a school bus as our means of transportation.  The cost of this trip will be taken out of the field trip money submitted at the beginning of the school year.

I am able to take 2 chaperones.  You will need to buy your tickets for $5.00.  Memberships are not accepted for field trips.  Let me know by April 11th if you would like to chaperone and I will draw from "the hat" to let you know who will come along.  Thanks!

First Grade Free Dress Day

The Bell family bid on our free dress day at the Gala fund raiser and bought it for us!
So they have chosen Tuesday March 19, 2019 as a day for just the first graders to wear free dress.

REMINDERS:

* Show and Tell Thursday for Group Yellow:  Makenzie, Sam, Bennett, Hayden, Miles M.
* Valentine Exchange Thursday.
* Quite a few library books still need to be returned.
*  Chapel led by first grade on February 20th (If your child is practicing a reading part, he/she is already bringing it home.  Send it back each day to use at school.)

NOTES AND NEWS FOR WEEK OF FEBRUARY 4, 2019

1. VALENTINE EXCHANGE on Thursday February 14th.  If your student would like to participate, he/she may bring a small valentine for each classmate.  Also, please make a bag, pouch, box etc.  for a valentine "mailbox".

2. We will be working on our chapel presentation for the 20th in class.  But if your child has a part to read, he/she should practice reading it once each night.  It does not need to be memorized, but DOES need to go home and come back each day. I will be assigning parts Tuesday or Wednesday this week.

WELCOME BACK!  Whew! What a few days we had!  Now to try to get back down to business...
We WILL still have our 100th day celebration this Friday the 25th.  Bring your 100 "things" that day.  
The week of January 28th is NLSW.  Check the newsletter for daily special dress and/or activities.  To start you out, Monday is wear "sweats". We will take a video mission trip to Peru and tie fleece blankets to give to various shelters.
SPELLING is the "oo" word list from January 14th.

Notes and News for Week of January 14, 2019

1. We will celebrate our 100th day of school on Friday, January 25th.  I will have special activities going on throughout the day.  Please help your child to decide on 100 things to wear or bring in a Ziploc bag.  Some examples are:  100 buttons on a shirt,
100 cheerios on a necklace, 100 stickers on a sheet of paper, 100 life savers sewn on a shirt, 100 Legos used to build an item, a bag of 100 marshmallows. etc.
Also, if you can bring a gluten-free and peanut free snack for all, comment here and we will know we have one coming. (Perhaps something with a "100" theme.)

2.  NATIONAL LUTHERAN SCHOOLS WEEK is the week of January 27th.  Check the school newsletter for special info.
